COF54-W - 54mm Bottomless Portafilter Stainless Steel Espresso Machine Filter Replacement for Breville 870/878/879/880 Along with 1 Cup Filter Basket Included

I have a coffee machine that is not a Breville, but uses a filter that's this same size. I wanted a second one to backup my original. While it fits, it is tight. But again, it's not designed specifically for my machine. If it works for mine, I'm confident it's great in the Breville machines it's designed for. Overall quality looks to be great.

Took a chance on this portafilter, had no reviews but the company has a few different ones on their page. I liked the look of this compared to all the wooden handle ones out there. Received the item last night, packaged well and has good weight about ~476g compared to the original Breville at ~445g, came with a basket that was tagged as "1 cup" basket in the description (This is identical to the stock 2 shot basket from Breville) also uniform and seems to be of decent quality and fits snug on the portafilter, also swapped in the Breville basket and fit no issues. Pulled the first shot from this and surprisingly no visible channeling and the flow was good with crema. The only issue I noticed was that it fit more snug on the grouphead and did not want to force it so I stopped when it felt tight enough to stay, about 80-85% of the way. No visible flaws, everything was well built and mill quality was great. Came with the rubber sleeve that can be inserted with the handle off (took a bit, super snug), the handle also had a washer to keep the tension so that it does not come loose. Well thought out and premium quality, I was thinking this or Normcore but at 1/2 the price and both being made in China I chose to risk it and super happy so far.

Was a little strange adopting this as there is no bottom channel ports like what came with our portafilter. But this is beautiful, well made, great value. Definitely would recommend and I would buy again although construction is great so pretty confident this will last a lifetime.

It is well built, fits nicely into my machine and delivers decent crema with my low end espresso maker.
